For instance, when receiving e-mails, I can't see emoticons or pictures and on my home page, beside the headings are these pesky kisses!

Dear,

Its because of the firewalls in most cases...For ex: Windows firewall/norton firewall/antispyware software installed on the system is blocking the image /file for more safety. In that case if u cant see the image then just right click inside that image and choose view image option ,then u will be able to view such images.

In case of further issues regarding computers & internet dont forget to contact via...

The boxes with crosses in them are placeholders for images or informattion that, for one reason or another, cannot be displayed. The reasons are very numerous such as your software has been configured NOT to accept images or even HTML, the messages were improperly sent or have invalid links, you may have software blocking the images (such as firewalls or antiviruses), your may have sofware incompatibility issues, or the message may contain images your computer couldn't understand (like a different language).

This is NOT always a bad thing since some images can slow down your speed or can even contain malicious code in them. But if you HAVE to see the pictures, you'd have to rule out the above reasons one by one starting with the most common.

The "Show Pictures" setting has been turned off in Internet Explorer.
Solution: In Internet Explorer's Tools menu, click Internet Options, then click the Advanced tab. Make sure the Show Pictures check box is selected under Multimedia, and click OK

3 possibilities exist. First the image may not be found at the location referenced, second the application can be blocking the display of images, or third the computer does not recognize the file type of the image.

right click it with your mouse and select 'show image'

if its still blank, then its a source problem.
if its your own page... do you have all those images in the same folder as the html pages? if you moved or deleted them, you need to repair your page.

if it shows, its generally a browser blocking it. in explorer, go to the Tools menu, click Internet Options, then Advanced tab, tick the box to allow images. Personally.. Id use firefox, less spyware, less conflict and more secure

I have found THAT when I am sending already received e-mails to another person.

IF you "copy and paste", the problem persists.

IF you "Foward", the problem DISAPPEARS....

I discovered this because I wanted to eliminate the "other stuff" in the e-mail that I was trying to foward...I still have THAT problem....
