I live in Melbourne and was wondering is it safe to buy Dvd's from amazon.com? Do you end up getting the product you bought?

You should. Make sure the DVD's are in your region.

As long as you have a multi-region DVD player there shouldn't be any problem just beware of any large orders as they can assume an import tax.
The main thing is to ask if it is really worth it compared to a local supplier as the carriage paid could make it a more expensive proposition.

I have bought DVDs from Amazon.com many times and have not had any problems. They don't care about where you came from.

I live in South Africa and I only had good experiences with Amazon up to now. I ordered a DVD and it got lost in the post. Amazon replaced it no questions asked. After a week or so after receiving my replacement DVD I got the original one (our local postal service got messed up). I asked Amazon what do do and they told me to keep it, complements from Amazon.

Just make sure you order DVD's with your region code otherwise you won't be able to play it in your DVD.
