forget the US, what about the EARTH?! If the entire human population doesn't get wiped out by poverty, hunger, AIDS and other diseases, overpopulation, the greenhouse effect *or* global dimming or just the extreme stupidity of human beings today and their greed and lack of love, then yeah, I guess the US does have a future.

Does the US have a future? Kind of like asking if the moon or sun have a future if you ask me,the world is quite fond of coming down on the US when they are not in a time of need but for over 200 years we have been the clear leader in almost all areas. For all our faults we have saved Europe from utter self destruction twice in the last century, and grown from what many at the beginning would have called a foolish social experiment into the most powerful country on earth. We are chided for many of our policies and yet in many ways we are the engine that keeps the world running, our economy is in fact so far reaching that a failure in it is literally felt globally. No other country on earth can claim so. We will not last forever, and I assure you when we fall it will be of our own doing, but I can also assure you that the failure of the US will be an event that will destabilize the western world for at least a quarter of a century and our passing will be felt.

Trillion dollar debt; schools falling apart; not enough teachers, housing, medical care. Street gangs dominating large cities, police out manned, under paid, corruption in politics on both sides of the Aile, more enemies in the world than during the cold war, freedoms and constitutional rights being slowly taken away, more brave men and women dying in foreign lands who could care less about America, pollution, disease, unemployment.

Hard........but America will always prevail!
