Immediately after the elections in Nigeria in 2003, the relationship between the president and his vice has been quite unfriendly. It has gotten to such a stage where the two of them are now accusing each other of corruption and abuse of office. The country's house of assembly has waded in and has recently called for the two to be probed. The political supportes of the two are poised towards action against each other. There has been threats to life to the supporters of both politicians and the two camps are seeking for public support and judgement in the court of public opinion.
I am worried because this has brought us on a bad international limelight. Nigeria is a country that has been trying hard to make the world believe that we are not that corrupt, that investors can bring their money to this country and feel safe. And now the two leaders that who are supposed to cooperate with each other are divided over some petty political differences. The president wants tern elongation.
