I am not positive, but I think you might have your question mixed up.

My best guess is that you are actually looking for the word 'border'. It can mean both a lodger and a circumference.

boarder=lodger

Border -- add "a" and this gives you "boarder" Hint: next time try shift + F7 on your keyboard to give you alternative words for "perimeter" on the thesaurus and run your eye over them to see which one would take the addition of an "a" to make a new word.
