In terms of what human beings have over other animals, I would say it's a combination of two things: long-term memory and advanced communication (especially permanent language). Other animals have some memory and certainly communicate in various ways, but it's the combination of having advanced memory and communication that makes us 'intelligent', mainly because it means we're not limited to our genetic determinants and we're capable of coming up with new 'ideas' in a human lifetime which can then be passed to others. In most species, changes to the species only happen through painfully slow evolutionary pressures rather than through conscious adaptation, as they do in humans.

If you mean are we actually smart, the answer's a big fat no. Only species with the capacity to actively and consciously annihilate ourselves and the other species on which we depend - not too bright.

"A person is smart, people are stupid, panicky, and fallow each other like a herd". This is the answer I got when I asked a wise man, the big part of humanity is under average intelligence, for many reasons, and the world we see today was made by that minority, imagine if all humanity were of equal intelligence capacity? do you think we'd still be living like this?

Depends what you mean intelligent.
We are the only species on the earth that have wars, pollute, and waste our resources.
On the flip side we are the only species on the earth who have hospitals, welfare system, and a higher education.
When you way the two sides against each other if we destroy each other and the earth none of the rest matter.

It takes a certain amount of intelligence to act really stupid proving that humans must be at least a little intelligent.

Well so far we are at the top of the food chain so I think we are doing pretty well. But keep up what we are doing in the fighting department and soon we will eliminate ourselves. The choice is up to us.
