otex is good as it breaks down the wax. To keep it wax free after put a few drops of olive oil in once a week. If you are going to put a cotton ball in after make sure you put vaseline on it otherwise it will just soak up the olive oil. You can buy pipets from chemists which are effective way of putting olive oil in. If you are to have your ears syringed make sure you put olive oil in twice a day for 2 weeks before. It will soften the wax and the syringing will be much more effective. Syringing ears that have not had ear drops in is very difficult and sometimes completely ineffective.

I watched a program called Tribes with Bruce Parry, and one of the tribes he stayed with put some kind of grubs in their ears which ate the ear wax! Not sure if you could find them in England though.

Otex is good for a while.
If your ears keep getting blocked though go to the doctors and have them syringed, I was amazed at the stuff that came out of mine , and the hearing difference was incredible.

best method is a syringe that is put in your ear by your doctor,i have regular problems with this and tried everything else but the syringe is the best method, drops will disolve but not necessarily remove.it doesn't hurt at all and lets face it poking things in your ears is dangerous.

Candling is the best! It's non invasive, chemical free and works like a dream. You will not believe how much sound you've been missing!

You can find the candling sticks at a health food stores or whole food markets.

Happy hearing! :)

My father-in-law used to use a garden sprayer to syringe his own ears! It worked but is probably potentially dangerous. You can get them done at your health centre and it makes a huge difference to how much you can hear.
