So far we have kept it practical and realistic but we've both admitted that we would like it to be more than that. I'm willing to give a "long distance" relationship an effort. How realistic can this be or should we just keep it at a friendship level and avoid heartache but live the what if?

I was once in the same situation and gave the relationship a chance. - I have now been married to that same guy for 18years and have three great kids. Don't let distance be a problem.

Long distance relationships are HARD. But you can make them work. I was in one for a year before I finally decided to move where he lived. We're married now. So they work, but they truly are hard.
