The Radcliffe Line became the border between India and Pakistan in 1947. Line of control is the line which is in Kashmir province - the part of Kashmir which was purloined by Pakistan in 1965. It is generally accepted that the war began following the failure of Pakistan's "Operation Gibraltar" which was designed to infiltrate and invade Jammu and Kashmir. They were able to occupy some part of Kashmir and that part which is occupied by Paki's is called Pakistan occupied Kashmir whereas the part which already belongs to India is called Indian occupied Kashmir by ignorants, who don't know a single bit about India's matter. And the line drawn between our lost part of Kashmir and the one which remained with us is called LOC.

The Line of Control (LOC) is a line which demarcates the boundary between the territories controlled by two militaries or political entities, e.g. the ones in Western Kashmir and the Aksai Chin — where it is known as the "Line of Actual Control" (LAC).

LOC

The Line of Control (LOC) (also known as the Line of Actual Control) is a line which demarcates the boundary between the territories controlled by two militaries or political entities.

Specifically, the term "LOC" refers to the military control line between India and Pakistan, in the province of Kashmir. Originally known as the "Ceasefire Line", it was redesignated the "Line of Control" after the Simla Agreement, which was formalized in December 1971.

There is the International border which is contested by both sides. Hence it is the Line of Control (LOC) which is the actual line dividing the two countries politially. Ideologically it is religion, democracy which divide the two countries.

Off course, LOC (Line of Control). I happen to visit one such check post in Fazilka (India) and could find there was something like "No man's Land" wherein the security personnel of the two countries could come and talk to each other and share/exchange some hunted animals.
It was long back but I still rever the moment & sight
