Generally speaking, shopping in Singapore is more expensive compare to Bangkok. If you wish to have shopping experience similar to Fa Yuen Street or Temple Street in Hong Kong, try Bugis Village (opp Bugis Junction), Far East Plaza and Chinatown. In Orchard area, there are good stuff with reasonable prices too. I recommend you visit Takashimaya, Paragon, Wisma Atria (hi-end), VivoCity (new shopping centre), Bishan Junction 8, Tampines Mall, Parkway Parade, Raffles City, Raflles Link, Suntec City, Marina Square, just to name a few.
For comfortable shopping experience (not including branded goods), an amount of between SGD $400 to SGD $600 for a 4 days trip.

Branded goods wise, hong kong will be slightly cheaper by 5% than in Singapore. If you are talking about street fashion, hong kong definately has more varieties- (price about the same as in Singapore). Shopping in bangkok is cheap but fashion wise won't be up to your liking.

shopping in bangkok is definitely much cheaper than in singapore if you are comparing similar kinds of products between the two countries. stuff in singapore may be more expensive (with the exchange rate and prices) but in terms of fashion, singapore has many variety and latest designs. that's so much to shop, u just can't stop :)
to sum it up, singapore is a great shopping (and food) paradise~

To look for cheap & lots of fake, go to Bangkok.
To look for medium priced and genuine stuff go to Singapore or Hongkong. Generally, HK is more expensive
than S'pore.

I THINK YOUR QUESTION HAS BEEN MOSTLY ANSWERED. MY TAKE IS THAT SINGAPORE IS EXPENSIVE TO SHOP IN. THERE ARE BARGAINS IF YOU CAN FIND THEM BUT THEN AGAIN IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT TO BUY. BANGKOK IS RELATIVELY CHEAPER THAN SINGAPORE AND HK.
ALSO CONSIDER YOUR COUNTRY'S EXCHANGE RATE VS THE COUNTRY OF DESTINATION. THIS PLAYS AN IMPORTANT PART IN THE PRICE OF THE GOODS.

In India there used to be a popular song called 'Jeevan mein ek bar anna Singapore'. translated it means that one must visit Singapore once in a lifetime. I stand by it though not a Singaporean.

shopping in singapore & hk is almost the same.
bangkok will be cheaper.
unless, you are referring to designer brands, then i will say...
WRESTLE YOUR WAY INTO THE SHOPPING MALLS DURING THE DAY AFTER THANSKGIVING! (if you are an american, that is)
hahahaaa....
anyway, you should check out sg's largest shopping mall- VIVOCITY (1 million square feet), that (soft) opens to the public today...
you can take the MRT (subway) to 'harborfront'...

have fun!
