I suppose it depends on what you need.
Something for your kids who listen to a few songs - Shuffle
Something just to listen to on the bus - Nano
Something to store lots and lots of music for long trips etc - Larger iPods - 30GB etc..
Something for lots of videos etc (again maybe if you travel) - larger video iPods.
SO, it depends on your preferences. And of course budget! Most general folk get away with the largest nano (now available in colours ;-) ! )
In my case, the best iPod would be one that actually works as mine is screwed!

The Creative Zen Vision is a mp3/video player with direct TV outs, can play just about any video file, and has a 30GB memory. Far superior to the iPod.

I have the white 30GB video iPod n fingers crossed i haven't had any trouble with it yet, its big enough to put your full song collection on (7500 - 15000) its not too bulky either, its quite a reasonable price and i got a 3year warranty with it, worth buying just in case. Look in Curry's Digital cos they offer a 'whatever happens' guarantee so if u drop it and it smashes you get a new one.

sorry i don't think any of them are you get better MP3's for half the price and twice the memory so your just pay appal for the label and if you drop an IPOD they brake

ipod nano is the best one. but ipods suck overall. over price, and so much malfunctions! trust me, i have 2. never again ipod.
