It is not hard for a foreign student to be admitted to a USA university, but it is quite hard to get into a "premier" school. The tops schools, like the Ivies, Duke, Stanford, Chicago, etc have far more applicants than they can possibly accept. And, those applicants are very well prepared.

You need to take the TOEFL and score VERY high. Then you need to take the GSATs tests and score very high on those. And you need to have excellent scores on all your courses or exams at the Bachelor's level. It would be a good idea if you had a contact in the USA - some professor who has written about the subject you want tos tudy, or some professor in your own country who has friends in the USA. You need some personal connection... And then, you probably need quite a lot of money,

If you just want to study in the USA, there are over 1000 graduate schools. Many of them will accept a foreign student if the student is smart, hard working and well prepared. You have a lot of research to do before you are ready to apply. Good luck. It is a tough job but not an impossible job.
