I think Iraq needs to be split three ways between Kurds, Sunni Muslims & Shi'ite Muslims. I know this means the Shi'ites will get most of the oil & possibly merge into Iran, but these three groups have only been kept peaceful with each other at gun point. Give them their own states & maybe they can work it out (like Yugoslavia, another 'artificial' country which has splintered with a lot of blood shed but is slowly beginning to recover).

And we need to be out in 18 mths, maximum. We are a big part of the current problem.

PEACE?????, They had peace, they had law and order. The only bad thing they had was crude oil, so the presence that is there now, is not there to protect the civilians, it is there to protect the crude oil. I would like to know the funds recieved from the selling of the iraqi peoples gdp is used for what purpose, who is benefiting from selling thier crude oil, is it going to the state, is it going to the people?? Or is it going to support the peace keeping forces, that probably charge $300,000 for a screw driver???

With what has happened there, with peace keepers arrival, it has now made it even worse than it was before, the problem will be how do they leave, how will they leave the people that supported them, these people and thier families will never be forgiven for thier betrayal to thier country. The warlords that the peace keepers created will kill each other for power and control.

So for the present moment yes the peace keepers have to remain there to protect certain families and also keep some sort of order, till they can find a solution to the problem they have created. Maybe some of these hollywood created organizations will have to resurface and try to unite the people for one common cause PEACE.

So we have to wait for when HOLLYWOOD can prepare a new production, and find more brilliant director than the one they have now, to save the day. They will also have to create new leading actors who dont support terror but peace, who knows maybe the great Mohammad or The Savoir Jesus will walk this earth again. You never know with Hollywood .

Given that the Britain created Iraq almost a century ago, then we might be considered to be the creators of our own problems!

The three areas of Iraq were forced together and have only been able to keep the peace under the threat of a dictatorship. Under Sadaam, the southern areas of Iraq held a lot of power - now that he has gone they have lost that power, so course they are keen to ensure democracy does not work.

It is important to remember that the vast majority of Iraq do want a democracy - it is only one element who are determined to regain control at any cost.

If we pull out now then there was very little point in going there in the first place.

Peace will come in Iraq over time, it wont happen anytime in the near future.
Our presence in Iraq is only helping us gain acces to a sure supply of oil.

There is already a low-level civil war going on there,& iraqi government troops & police are up to their necks in it.This is Bush's 'Vietnam',the so-called 'War on Terror' has already been lost.Even moderate Muslims around the world have been radicalised,& i think the Americans & their British lapdogs will pay dearly for their aggression. It's very sad that so many innocent people from all sides will suffer.

No, it's time to get out, they don't want our help they have made that blatently obvious by their terrorist acts on us.Deport each and every one of them from this country.
We don't want or need them here.
I for one am voting BNPand so are all my friends and family. We the true British people have had enough, yes I agree their are good and bad in all,but we cannot take a chance that we let in the good one's and we must protect our own first.

If we go by history, then no, there will not be peace in Iraq. Our presence is only a temporary band-aid.

whilst Hussain's regieme was a reign of terror, it was the only thing maintaining law and order in what has been an unstable area since pre biblical times.

The invasion and illegal occupation was ill thought out with no clear objective and no coherent stratergy. With the makeup of the region, civil war with mass civillian casualtys was inevitable.

but of course general cuckoo bannanas and bLIAR knew this when they started their crusade.....
