hey dude... this is quite simple to answer!! ...in the market u hav many companies like Compaq, Hp, Lenovo, Dell, IMB,... which r providing desktops, laptops, pc,... wid a gud configuration at a resonable cost.

I think, itz better to go for an compact one instead of an Assembled PC. As most of the assembled pc's are not working properly and gonna make u a big problem in the future as they even don't hav any guarantee period..!!

If u wanna assembled PC at any cost then, try to get dis configuration...
-- Processor @ Athlon AMD / Pentium Duo Core
-- Monitor @ 17 inches
-- RAM @ 256 MB
-- Hard disk @ SATTA 80GB
-- writter @ LG DVD writter (don't go for SAMSUNG)
-- Speakers @ JBL platinum series
-- web camera
-- Back-UPS @ APC
-- Keyboard @ Multimedia
-- Mouse @ Optical Mouse

Note: apart from these, u will get either Printer or webcamera and softwares as FREE with u r system.

OS : go for windows XP professional with service pack 2

datz it..!!!
gud luck....!!!

Depends on what you want to do with that PC of yours. if you are going to use extensive graphics softwares for your job or work on Oracle Database then you need to have more RAM memory may be 256 MB. If you are going to do too much of data entry or would be putting up toomany of Movies or songs on the hard disc then you will need a 80GB hard disk. acessories would be extra. If you are to copy CDs you will need a DVD writer combo drive .So that is how it is.
