Because they make a ton of money shouldn't mean they have to dole out more.
When you apply for a job you agree to the wages.

How about pro athletes giving fans free tickets??

One more thing. I realised that higher wages means more taxes paid. Good thinking US Gov!

I didn't hear about this but I agree with you. I think the government sometimes seems to play favorites. Some people get away with murder and others are persecuted for not going along. I love Walmart. It is one of the few companies that makes me feel as if they DO care about me, the little guy. I'm the one that doesn't make or spend enough money for Target to be impressed with. They're not trying to win me over as a customer. Walmart is. I truly feel that they want me to have a good shopping experience and to be a repeat customer. This is the only store where I don't go into shock at the check out line. Actually I do go into shock. I'm always pleasantly surprised at how much money I saved. So how is the government going to take that away from me? It's not like their employees are lied to about their wages. No one is forcing them to continue to work there. I think some of the other stores are lobbying for this because they want a piece of the pie.

It is an agreement when you apply a job. However, the company reaches monopolic proportions, the level of competition for the job helps keep the salary at minimum wage. Now, the problem with that is, due to inflation, the minimum wage is not enough.

I do not think the government should force walmart or big changes to increase just their employee wages.

I th ink they should raise the total minimum wage.

I too think tht the government should not increase wages of the employees. The workers don't see the amount of money tht these people have to pay, the losses, the taxes, the bills, the debts, etc. its so easy to see only what is upfront and cooly turn a blind eye to what efforts have to be made to run it so well.

Usually when people go to Wal-Mart for employment, its a step away from fast food and welfare.so they probably aint got no choice.Wal-Mart does pay descent if your single, dont have a credit card or car to pay on dont need insurance and live with mommy and daddy. But if you have bills to pay and kids who need medical insurance, your living from paycheck to paycheck.Insurance for one associate and family(spouse and child)is over $100 every pay period. You get one raise a year which can be anywhere from .40 to .65 if your lucky and kissed alot of a**.
