I think the keener appreciation of the glass itself elevates the experience and by association with that elevated experience, the wine's taste may seem better.

Then you have the delusion that you are drinking higher quality then you actually are. A bit like if someone blind folded you and fed you a shops own brand food and told you it was branded, you might well not know the difference!

It's a mind thing you are telling your self that its better because of the way it's presented to you. think of food, buy a burger and fries served on a trash lead your horrified same greasy food on a plate your delighted.
