He is for mayor for my town.
He believes that gay marriage should be band, abortion is murder, belives in providing more for public schools, supports lowering class size, supports worker unions, does not believe in the death penalty, said that he would of not gone in Iraq, supports gun control and gun safety. Does not support illegal immigration ad believes in building a fence or wall along the boarder of Mexico. Believes in a medical system that would provide for lower income children.

I know most of these things are handled on the national level, but curious what you think about his stances.

I think this is cool stuff. A mayor candidate rarely gives out so many positions. No party affliation, while cool, may hurt his chances to win unless you are in Maine or someother progressive place.

How does he compare to the rest?

Each issue is like Republican wedge issues and every voter assigns these issues a different weight of importance.

For example, it is rare that a prolife guy (abortion is murder) also opposes the death penalty. Those two seems consistant to me.

Ever noticed most "prolife" groups are only prolife on abortion? And God forbid the "prochoice" groups want to force everyone to pay for the abortion procedures? Now there is "choice" in action.

In general, he has a simple approach to complex issues. Are fences really going to help when Central California and Texas are losing crops for lack of workers???

But you have to admire "not going to Iraq". That is straightforward and would have saved Billions and 100,000 lives.

If he was the only candidate opposing Iraq, he would have my vote!!!

Good Luck.

I am split 50/50 on his stance of the issues you presented. He does have some good stances however. I would have to know more about him; Since he is only running for mayor; more stances on specific local issues, his past track record, is he a first time candidate, experience etc. (and probably his political affiliation...)

I would not vote for him because he seems to be blabbing way too much about things that a Mayor has absolutely no control over. You want to hire someone to run your city, not vote on a laundry list of our country's most contentious issues.

This guy would get my vote but i don't know who else is running. But he does sound pretty good.

1) abortion isn't always murder though. Rape victims/under 16's should be allowed it

2) death penalty shouldn't be handed out lightly. only reserved for truly sick psychopaths.
