rather than let them die why not carry out experiments on them instead of animals.this way they could give something back to society and if they die then thaey will be happy.

I don't understand the current concern with overcrowding, when the prisoners generally at the most have three or four to a cell, when there's six to eight to a cell start worrying, also why are the government not using the dregs of society for the good of the rest of society, i.e. repairing roads, restoration of derelict areas and the like?? As for letting prisoners kill themselves, why are paedophiles allowed to carry on living, in the first place?

If some one is in prison then they’ve obviously been bad, its there life let them take it its there decision and as you so rightly pointed out it would save a lot of money that could be used for more worthwhile causes.
And well were on the subject of prisons when are they going to bring back hard time and stop mamby pambying the bloody criminals for gods sake?

Your right. If the like of Ian Huntley want to top themselves then let them, i would rather my taxes went to something worth while, he is going to be locked up for the rest of his life. And Not only money spent to keep him locked up but the extra costs of medical care and 24 hr suicide watch will drain even more resources

havent you heard of innocent untill proven guilty there are so many people (innocent) in prison on remand. who have NEVER been placed in this situation before and can be very very intimidating for them they could feel threatened and the only option for them is suicide. even though they are not guilty of any crime only suspected of being.
think of it this way if you went to a night out met a nice boy / girl
take them home for a night of sex and passion (well hope anyway) next morning they cry RAPE you goto court the fiscal says you are a danger to the public a menace to society (BAIL REFUSED).
off to Barlinnie or saome other lovely place to stay rent free at Her Majesties Pleasure till your trial arrives some 4 month or in England 2 year later.
Welcome to hell.
so no i dont think that suicides should be allowed.
i know of one guy who was remanded at barlinnie prison for alleged assault on his wife. no court just straight to barlinnie.
he commited suicide on Xmas Eve

I agree it would save the tax payer's money, but how about we stop spending so much in the first place and just sticking them in a cold single cell with just enough to keep them alive? Death is an easy way out. Why should they be let off so lightly?

I agree, although they say its the cowards way out.
i think maybe put them in general population instead of sheltering them. If they have been found guilty of such an awful crime let them face the consequences not be hidden away at the taxpayers cost for their own safety.

Let 'em and I'll go one step further. Gladiator tournaments for Rapists, Murderers and crimes against children or any capitol crime!!! Put 'em all in a football arena, give 'em blunt objects and the last one standing gets to go back to their cell. This will also cover overcrowding and dealing with those nasty shank jobs in the showers!!
