The best essays on something like this come from the heart. Think about a moment or time that had meaning to you. My daughter got top marks writing about the death of her grandfather because it came from the heart. She also wrote about her brothers and what they did together and how that changed over the years with each of them having different commitments and again received top marks. So write from the heart!

Write about something that you think is quite small now but would have meant the world to you back then, something like having a favourite toy taken away or losing it (I remember my sister lost one of her toys on the beach and cried the rest of the holiday - we still talk about that now). The loss of a pet from a child's point of view, or something that meant a lot to you.

Look at your life chronologically, note the highlights & the most memorable moments, do an outline, & go from there...Unless you want to write about my childhood...

a lot of our memories are sad and tragic but it is better not to write about those, instead-

who gave you your first bicycle and what happened when you learned to ride, where did you go.
what was your favourite holiday
was your bedroom decorated for you-who did it and did you help.
