My lover and I planned to be with each other with no distraction like going in a motel but every time we're going inside i refused to go and stay outside due to some hesitation that what if one of my colleagues will see me there or someone who knows me. I'm scared that they will make some stories and rumors will spread easily until it reaches out my parents ear. We're both on the right age and no need for parent's consent and turning 26 but they always see me as a baby and not an adult although im the only girl in the family aside from my step sister. We really love each other.

Maybe there are a lot of things worrying you rather than your parent's anger or what. Marry him if he wants to have you and you can go out without fear of anyone. Well I guess the reason why you acted like a child because you're scared to explore what a real adult knows about life. And what you told us that your parents treat you like a baby and that’s maybe the reason why you cannot move on as what your real age is. Be brave and face what's your into. If your bf is not yet committed why not make it legally? Marry him.

It is good to respect the feelings of your parents who love you and lost a lot of time and money to bring you up and also to preserve your reputation..For sure your boyf will understand this and agree with you .. You can find another way to be alone than going to a motel or a public place , no matter how old are you , besides he can make a formal engagement with you and tell your parents about his intention to marry you , otherwise take much care while you are wandering together in the dark and under the shadow.

If you're having to "sneak around" with a lover at 26 then maybe you parents are right to still see you as a baby and not an adult. You're certainly not acting like an adult.

Do u and stop worrying about what others r going to say. Ur not a baby anymore and eventually that wrapper is going to come off the package. Ur an adult w/ adult feelings; explore them.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking.....
You call this person your lover, so is he married & that is why you are hesitent???
If he is married & you two are going to meet in hotels, etc. then I doubt he loves you. If he loves you then he would divorce his wife, if he is married. He would take you to HIS house.... Why don't you go to YOUR house???
At 26 what do your parents have to do with anything, unless HE'S MARRIED!!!! & you are afraid they will be ashamed of you.
For all that you said, you don't make much sense.

why are you worried about what others think,colleagues or not?are you ashamed of him?i dont know if this the right guy for you or not,but until you stand up on your own 2 feet and stop looking for approval and acceptance from others and dont worry about what anybody has to say.as long as you are happy nothin else matters!

It sounds to me like you are far too worried about what people think of you. Who cares if someone sees you? You are 26, it is normal to be having sex and you should not have to sneak around to do it!
