Your acknowledgement that you are a shy person is the first step for you to get rid of it..But please never let this talk get over you and pressurise you.Just join a gym, play some team game, befriend lots of girls

Shyness, lack of knowing how to communicate, not knowing what to talk about, or even fear of saying something dumb.

Try just asking questions. People like to talk about themselves plus it is a sign you are interested in them and let them do all the talking. Now if they are asking you questions and you do not know what to say or do not what to reply, answer with a question.

Try doing a "Paradoxical Intervention" where you do something that requires you to be very outgoing and social. For example, host a BBQ or social event that requires you to interact with others.

at 17 you tend to be shy because your circle is small and you are passing frm childhood to adulthood.Try to build a circle of friends and discuss topics of commoninterest.
