You mean you upgraded from 128mb to 512mb (an increase of 384mb)...

32
64
128
512
1024
etc

I would upgrade to a latter laptop (second hand or new).
Alot of the budget/entry level models are fairly cheap now which have about:

CPU: 1.7ghz+
RAM: 512mb-1gb

New start at about AU$800
Second hand at about AU$300-400

Ebay may also be an option.

Technology snow balls...
Rapidly becoming cheap & increased amount of new technology.

Why upgrade components when not too much more you can upgrade the whole unit.

"Throw-a-way-society"

Hope this helps...

You would probably have to upgrade your motherboard, processor, graphics card, and hard drive just for it to be vista capable if thats what you are hoping for. You can probably buy a brand new laptop for much heaper than it would be to buy all those parts and to get them installed.

The processor on a laptop is usually soldered in place, so it would be really difficult to upgrade.

you will desire to examine the instruction manual. some mom boards won't help the PC133 velocity and could down shift. some desktops won't run very quickly or crash in case you have 2 diverse in case you have diverse reminiscence velocity. So somewhat, you will desire to one million. study the instruction manual, 2. open the workstation and see what you somewhat have in there. Do you have 2 sixteen MB or one million 32 MB. in case you have 2 sixteen's and could be required to get the pair of sixty 4's. verify to be sure what the max reminiscence you have.

I would suggest not wasting the money and just saving up for a new laptop
