Go lighter, then you can blend it better. If you go darker no matter how much you blend it'll be obvious.

You really should get a foundation that is the closest to your own skin-tone, not lighter or darker. The main goal is to make it look like you have no coverup on at all! You dont want to look like Casper or like you have a horrible face tan! What tone is your skin? You also need to factor in what type of skin you have. Ex. Dry, oily, normal, combo.. etc.) Applying different foundations will help you out personally. So in general, which ever foundations look to suit your skin color the most, pick those. Hope this helped you out! Also you can do a google search and find plenty of answers for all of your makeup needs!

don't warry about buying online, just use a company with a money back guarantee and you can always send it back if you don't like it. Arbonne has just such a guarantee. You do not really want to go either lighter or darker, you want your foundation to disappear into your skin. It should only even out blotchy skin tone to what is your natural color. If you can't match exactly, it it ok to go a little darker, but you want to be careful that it is not obvious (makeup lines at the jaw or ears).

A foundation that does not match your skin tone as close as possible will you give that dreaded clown-face look and be very noticable. It would really be much better to visit a store and pick out the right shade and then go online to order.
One little tip tho -- a lighter shade can be used to cover some dark spots and blemishes.

If you're unsure, go lighter. It's easier to blend into skin tones. Also always use a damp makeup sponge to apply foundation and pat it on, don't rub. Patting makes it blend better without streaking. Also, don't use pink based foundation unless you are a natural blond, go for the yellow based foundation.. it'll blend better and look more natural.

You should wear exactly the same color foundation as your skin tone! I don't recommend buying foundation online, unless you've used the product before and know exactly which shade you're ordering.
The best way is to test different shades on your jawline, and the one that "disappears" on your skin is the perfect shade for you.

the foundation colour should be your skin colour. foundation is just to give an even look to your face. our skin is darker at some places and lighter at other so foundation makes it even

It is always better to go a bit darker than lighter. Much more attractive to add colour.

It is advised that one should usea shade darker than your skin tone, a lighter tone makes it look unreal,You won't go wrong with one tone darker, so go ahead, enjoy!

It depends on how old you are, lighter foundation makes you look younger whereas darker foundation makes you look older.
