The only way someone can be elected a third time, whether consecutive or not, would be by amending the U.S. Constitution.

No...2 terms period....Of course Clinton wished he could be president forever......and people say Bush wanted to be king.

Example.....Lets say Bush 1 only served 1 term and now wants to run in 2008.....he could.

Yes he could, but it wouldn't be legal.

no one may be elected to the office more than twice, and that no one may be elected President more than once who has held the office of (or acted as) President for more than two years of another's term.


The minimum disqualification period is 2 years plus one day.
