The typical sequence for a college track is Algebra 1 in ninth grade, Geometry in tenth grade, Algebra 2 as a junior, and a higher level math (Pre-Calculus or something else) as a senior. Of course, it can vary from school system to school system, but this is what I grew up with and also what is used at the school where I teach now.

it depends on your school's policy really. My school was freshman: algebra 1, sophmore: geometry and junior: algebra 2. anything after that was not required to graduate.
