It seems that rap today focuses on very superficial messages. Do you feel that the underlying message has become destructive to today's youth?

hi, people have suggested that approximately all rock and roll and dad track over the final 50 years. maximum persons in basic terms listened to the beat and not the words that have been complicated to differentiate on the main suitable of cases. at an identical time as I certainly have your ear, whether i'd desire to assert i've got faith Afro-American track has long previous down hill horribly over the final 25 years. Rap develop into ok while it first got here out yet has been so overkilled very corresponding to the River Dance Irish and Celtic track. contained in the 60's you had this kind of form from Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, Jimmy Hendrix by using to Diana Ross and the Supremes, The container Tops to no longer point out Dion Warwick by using to the Jackson 5, Gladys Knight, Tina Turner and a great form of others too dissimilar to record right here. What got here approximately? Its all rap or that whiney Whitney Huston piano bar stuff. I have not have been given any quarrel with the youngsters yet i'm hoping to work out a clean reneissance in black track in my final 20 or 30 years. Cheers, Michael Kelly

Todays CARTOONS focus on superficial messages....Todays parents are superficial in general.

Our cultural has become superficial because it is the easiest and quickest way to seperate people from their money....

Think of when the Beatles had 5 songs in the top ten! They were deep, emotional, musically brilliant, cryptic in meaning sometimes... And everybody loved them... If the Beatles came out today they'd struggle to get airtime over Green Day and Nickleback....

Rap is the worst symptom of a dying culture. It's shameless in it's exploitation of every part of the culture it embodies... women, men, children, drugs, only have meaning to make money in rap culture....Public Enemy would be a joke today...

I agree, and now it's not just rap. I feel most genres of music (and believe me, I don't like rap) have really given up on meaningful lyrics! Remember when songs really meant something, or gave a message? I miss that. Now the only "message" is one I don't want to hear, and I certainly don't want our youth to hear. It's sad.

Yes, all they rap about is violence and use derogatory terms for women and men. I like the old days when rap was more political and actually influenced the rap culture in a good way.

Its no so much the message, its the overall lousy and talentness of the music that the kids are absorbing making them think that they can halfass EVERYTHING in life so why finish school? why not do drugs? why not buy all the expensive clothing and complain that i am poor? Why treat women with respect?

nah its just good music but some well nearly all songs have swear words in it like 50 cent songs are the best. Depends who listens to the songs and what the lyrics are.
