Basic requirements are simple-
Deep attachment from both sides you and hers. Not always 'love' but deep feelings and commitment to the other can sometimes work.
Respect- for yourself and the person you are with.
Trust- in your judgement, decisions and choices then you can provide and share that trust with someone else.
Ability to communicate- this is listening to anothers needs and wants and responding as well as stating or making your own known.
Compromise- the ability and capacity to disagree with someone and then find a way to meet them halfway on important issues and respect them and thier opinions when the positions cannot be changed.
Humor- the simple ability to laugh at yourself and make someone else smile when they need it.
