none required for lunar eclipse ... just be careful not to fall off the terrace... for solar .. never try to look directly at the sun ... not even with sun glasses on .. its not because of the eclipse but sun light is bright wnough to ruin ur eyes ... cheap way to look at a solar eclipse .... look through an old x ray sheet ... through the brown part ... not the bones part ... or u want to show it to people ... get a mirror .. small one ... cut a paper of the same size .. paper should be perfectly opaque ... cut a circular hole in it ... paste the paper on the mirror... now adjust the mirror in such a way that the reflection of the sun falls on some wall or some other dark object ... you can see the status of the eclipse from this without directly looking at the sun ...

Find your local welding supply place.
Amateur astronomers typically use a shade 14 welding glass to view the sun with the naked eye. When a solar eclipse is imminent, that shade sells out.
I've been doing this for years....it's pretty cool.

seriously... you do that thing with a pipe and watch the shadow through it. Or watch it on TV. Or use polarised lens equipment or something (like a welder's mask?)
