I just downloaded the latest version of Messenger and then it appeared. I hate that.... Thanks for your help.

here are two ways to uninstall the Yahoo! Toolbar for Internet Explorer.
Option 1: Via the toolbar()
Select "Uninstall" from the Pencil button (Toolbar Settings).
Click "Uninstall" on the uninstall page.
Close any open IE windows.
When you restart Internet Explorer, Yahoo! Toolbar will no longer be present.
Option 2: Via the Control Panel
Click the Windows "Start" button.
Select "Control Panel" from the "Settings" menu.
Double-click on "Add/Remove Programs".
Scroll down and click on the "Yahoo! Toolbar" entry.
Click on "Change/Remove."
Close any open IE windows.
Yahoo! Toolbar is now uninstalled. Please start IE again after closing all your open IE browser windows and it will no longer be present.
If you follow these steps and Yahoo! Toolbar is still present, make sure you've closed all your open IE browser windows. Due to Internet Explorer being integrated with Windows, you might need to restart your computer to fully uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar.
If you like the functionality of Yahoo! Toolbar, instead of removing Yahoo! Toolbar, you can hide Yahoo! Toolbar or move Yahoo! Toolbar so that it takes up less space in your browser.

U hv four options to do this.
First click on pencil near the search bar on yahoo toolbar and select uninstall.
Second, follow this path. Start> control panel> add remove > yahoo toolbar> change remove.
Third, Right click empty space on toolbar and uncheck the yahoo toolbar. It will hide.
Fourth, click view and select full screen, it will increase ur viewing space and ur browser toolbar and yahoo toolbar, both will hide.
Now u hv 4 alternatives and choice is certainly urs to choose anyone of these. It will solve ur problem.

if i am not mistaken, if you want to completely remove the Yahoo toolbar, just go to start > control panel>add or remove program>yahoo toolbar for internet msger. highlight it, than clik the change / remove button. hope that will help.

From there, you just select Yahoo toolbar & remove it.
