Only way to do it, although I usually listen to the same artist for 6 months. Right now it's anything by Jack Johnson, constantly. But yeah, there have been many songs I played over and over, although not, perhaps, 50 times in a row... Mustang Sally, Fast As You, Put Me In Coach...

Maybe not quite THAT many times but yes, I do hit the ol' repeat button on some songs.

Rush's 'Time Stand Still' and Bon Jovi's 'Just Older' to give a couple of examples, as well as Harry Chapin's 'Cats in the Cradle.' They fit my life and attitudes FAR too well.

Grow out of it?? If you say you've 'grown out of it,' music is no longer in your SOUL and I am sorry for you. I'm 45 and will probably ALWAYS do this. Some songs just bear immediate repeating; they have way too much meaning to just hear once in a while.

yes. Right now, I'm listening to three songs in constant cycle: Life on Mars?, Rachael's Song and Stairway to Heaven. I can't feel my legs and my hair is floating.

I would have to say that the beat, rhythm, melody, or the words some how resonate with you and it just feels good to, "your actual body", it probably makes you feel.... all together, a good sense of being alive, which does not come to easily these days.
