The point system is designed to make people come back, to give them a purpose to keep answering questions. Time spent here adds value to Yahoos advertising space. But seeing as there are very few if any ads in the Yahoo answers area, they have decieved their ad clientel. Or perhaps, going to yahoos home page to get to yahoo answers makes the home page ads a bit pricier. ANYWAYS the bottom line ____________________yahoo answers points are meant to make yahoo more money. In any way shape or form that it can. Thats business. (What, you thought they were just being nice by giving us something fun to do ON THEIR WEBSITE?).

there's a limit to how many questions you can answer. if you get more points, you can get to higher levels and be able to answer/ask more. you also get to rate people's answers.
