Why do most people seem to use the term "racism" in relation to the Mexican/US border issue ? It's two nations, isn't it? Is there a mexican race? Doesn't Mexico have Anglos,Indians,Spanish,Africans and others just as the US has? No one says there is an American race. Both nations residents come from other continents at one time or another, including the Indians. Isn't a matter of people migrating to another country illegally en mass ?

Dig this question.. I think it's just plain out of control. If the economy was all that much better there.. Would American citizens be going there in groves to better themselves? Would Mexico close it's borders to us? The thing I don't like about what is going on is.. Wages are taking such a pounding. Back in the late '70s I was a welder making $17.00 an hour.. Honest pay, honest work, good trade skill. Now looking in the paper..A production welder starts at $8.00 an hour 20 + years later. I don't weld any more, but went to check a welding place out.. All Mexican welders. Moral of this tune.. Get a place of business together. get this "cheap" labor working for ya ..and make a bunch..

Most of the immigrants from Mexico are mestizos, meaning they are descendants of both Mixtec Indian stock and White Castillian Spanish stock. Many of them are of pure Indian stock, with some of them being yet more specific, such as the Oaxacans, who speak Nahuatl, the Aztec language.

I've actually seen Mestizo indians attacking Oaxacans, because the Oaxacans were smaller and browner and ....? I don't know why.

You're not going to want to hear this, but it's true. The primary culture and ethnic makeup of the United States is White, Anglo-Saxon or Irish-Germanic Protestant.

"Race" is an ambiguous term, but it suffices to define the fact that two very different peoples are becoming rivals for territory and resources.

White Americans have a long history on this continent. We are not immigrants. I repeat, we are not immigrants. Once you have built towns, roads and institutions, raised generations, raised crops, fought wars for your ideals, you own that land.

The Mexicans are fleeing a corrupt and destitute country where the White Castillians hoard the wealth. Mexico has NO middle class. You come from a filthy rich family, or you are dirt poor. The racial tension in Mexico is tremendous.

The fact that Mexico is deporting its poor brown people who send home 12 billion dollars a year is a double blessing to White Mexicans. They are staving off revolution on their own soil, and awakening a Mexican nationalism that may gain them back northern territories over time.

I personally think it would be best if we worked out a situation that was beneficial to north America as a whole. If we all felt like we needed each other, it would be a lot easier to function in the world as other economic, political and military blocs form.

As far as foreigners insisting some inherent right in a country which is not their own, that's just ridiculous
I've been in Japan for 10 years, and if Japanese immigration, in this society which is becoming more nationalistic and xenophobic by the day, decides for whatever reason that I am to be deported, you can bet your sweet *** that I will be, after I spend a yet-to-be-determined amount of time rotting in some inhumane immigration detention center.
America needs to work on it's relations with the rest of the world, but there are plenty of other countries who want the world to view them as modern, progressive societies (ie. France, Japan) who have nothing on the US in this respect.

People use the word racism because they know that it is offensive, unfair and inappropriate. The fact is that those who use it are the racists. They are dullards who swear because they do not have the intelligence to argue rationally. It is a well know trick that if you haven't anything sensible to say be abusive and that can substitute for an argument.

There's an old lawyer's saying that goes 'When the law is on your side argue the law. When the facts are on your side argue the facts. When neither the law nor the facts are on your side pound on the table.'
Since neither the law or the facts are on the pro-illegal's side their cries of 'racism' are them pounding on the table.
