Well everybody realised the seriousness when they see the PSI value. In SG a lot of time people takes things for granted, so until they saw the PSI value reading is more than 100 than people start to panic and worry how long is this going to stay.

Yup, I'm updated with the news. At 10:00 PM, NEA reports that the PSI is 145, which has declined by 5 from 9:00 PM. So far, the highest PSI Reading is 150. If it reaches 201, it means very unhealthy. If it's 301, it means hazardous and 400 is very hazardous. While we're hoping for rain and shine to arrive, I think the army and civil defence should help to stop the fire that in Indonesia.
What we can do now is to stop regular and vigorous outdoor activities. Healthy people like us may also have breathing difficulties (touch-wood). Recent news recommend citizens to switch on the air-cons and shut the windows.

Yes. It was really bad yesterday. I could smell the smoke and can see the thick haze.. Today it is much better, I can see better and I don't smell so much haze. I am living in the north and haven't left my home for these 2 days... It is bad, with this, you can easily fall sick, especially for people who have asthma or heart problems.. I had some bad eye and nose irritation..:)
Agreed.. I think Singapore already offered some help in spoting the hot burning areas and even fire fighters..

It's not forest fires but plantation owners (mostly Malaysian Chinese) clearing land for planting by setting off fires - they do this annually. Enforcement? You goddabekiddin when the entire nation thrives on corruption - it's the fuel that runs the country; from Presidents to poticians and policemen.
ASEAN is ALL HOT AIR.

as quickly as the haze units in, it rather is confusing to do away with it until it rains genuine heavy and the wind direction alterations. i'd see the only way is for Indonesia to impose heavy penalty for all those whose land have been burnt and to declare confiscate their land - in spite of despite if or no longer they are in charge. in this way, the land proprietors would be extra careful. Culprits could be barred for say 5 years.
