also, is saying, "i dont recall", a fancy way for the republicans to answer a question without actually lying to cover their mistakes?

I'm not a rocket scientist but I'm pretty sure that I would remember the head of the CIA giving me a brief and then telling me America was about to be attacked by terrorists.

Either she's a bare-faced liar or poorly totally incompetent to hold her position. There is nothing in between. She's either a liar or she's in over her head.

Actually, it was the Clintons, H and W, who first made the words, "I don't recall..." sound like bold-faced lies.

When Ollie North and Mr. Reagan used them, Americans chose to believe them.

Ms. Rice probably just doesn't recall. But I can understand why Americans would be so suspicious, since we had to deal with those Clintons for so long, and all. She probably should have used another way of saying she couldn't remember...

Reagan pioneered this technique. I seem to remember when being questioned about Iran-Contra he said "I can't recall" or "I dont' remember" something like sixty times.
