Hi I am a junior in high school, and homecoming is in 3 weeks.

I have known this particular girl for a few years but this year I don't have any classes with her, so I only see her in the hallways and during lunch. She says I am really *sweet* BUT
I don't know whether or not she has a date already; I want to ask her friends but I don't know how I would ask them. One of my friends does go to her church, but he's kinda shy...

I want to send her a rose with a poem during her English class, so it would be really embarassing if she had a date.

Please help me with this dilema...should I ask her?

How would I find out if she has a date already?
Thanks in advance...

Just ask her, do you have a date for Homecoming. If she says yes then say, that's cool, still haven't decided if I'm going or not. If she says no, ask if she was waiting for anyone in particular to ask, when she gives you that shy smile, move in for the kill and say because I would LOVE to be that someone!

Best of Luck and the sending a rose idea was great too!

I think you should just ask her directly. If she has a date already, that's okay, at least you tried. It has been a long time since I was in High School, but I would skip the poem and rose for now. This way you can shrug it off as no big deal if she says no. Try to find a time when you can ask her alone, i.e. not in front of her friends or your friends.

Save the rose and poem for after you go to the event with her, if you and her have a good time, and you want to then convey deeper feelings for her.

Good luck!

This seems like a typical high school flowers and chocolates kind of romance .

Be friend her and talk to her , spend more time with her .. and make a small group of more 2 people and go out on a causal lunch , these are little ways through which you can get closer to her and know what is what !

Go on and all the best and one more thing , dont wait for too long jus tell her ur feelings in a nice polite manner, and tell her you are serious !

All the best and go for it

why not causually(sp?) ask her friends... "so who's betty(fake name) going to homecoming with" ..... maybe that'll help ... if not ... just ask her who she's going with.... then maybe she'll say no one .. .and you can say ... i'd really love it if you went along with me....
