It seems like if I utter a single complaint about my job(s) (cashier in retail/grocery) some goon always says to go get a new job. So is the job fairy going to come down and grant me a new one, starting at my current pay rate, hours, benefits et cetera. I want to know what the people who say this do for a living that thier job is so stress free they never get mad and have a complaint.

LoL...I'm not even too sure what my question is, if you hate you job tell me why, I dont care if you complain.

And before anyone bitches, I'm in school right now to get a better job...but I need these ones in the meantime...

You present a good question and a perceptive commentary.

Ultimately, most work sucks. Unfortunately it is not an easy task to find a career that is enjoyable and doesn't suck in some way.

The people who tell you to get another job are right, but they do not elaborate and that is what is frustrating.

If you are not wealthy and living on a trust fund, you need to work. Work in many places is the same tedium and you don't meet the most enlightened people around. However, if you look around, there are some jobs or careers that you fit into and that you may enjoy a lot more than the one you have now.

But finding out what you like, getting the training and education you need to get hired and excel in that job, may be difficult and possibly somewhat out of reach. This is the hard part that the "go get another job" crowd does not admit to.

Ultimately you will have to find something that provides for you and that you can tolerate. But finding it, pursuing it, getting qualified for it is a difficult endeavor. "Go get a new job" is the classic "easier said than done" comment.

I feel your pain.

Honestly i never get mad at my job I love it. I work as a machinest with 30 men and I spend 90% of my shift laughing my *** off.

go to school get a job and dont expect it to do anything for you thats the best advise I have. Expect to be poor even though you have a university/college education. Im looking at another 80 years of paying off my schooling and Im finally at the point where I really could care less as long as Im having fun and can eat.

good luck with things!

No, the job fairy is not going to bail you out. You have to do that yourself. If everyone who doesn't like their job complained about it, we wouldn't talk about anything else. People just don't want to hear from a complainer all the time - we have our own complaints. As long as you're willing to take their money, then the pros of your job must outweigh the cons.

Quit, or be quiet. ;-)

Good for you in going back to school to get a better job. If you have education and don't like your job it is easier to go and get a new one. But remember that there will always be something you don't like about the job you have you just have to weigh the pros and cons.

I work at a job full of mean people saying mean things doing important work that only makes them meaner. From the moment I walk into the mean building I'm harassed by mean email and have to do mean experiments and end up sitting in mean meetings full of mean people talking about mean things.

No wonder I'm crazy...
