Both Tex Ritter and Gene Autry had hits from the song 'Red River Valley.' But I can't remember if either was used for the film.

John Phillips (of the Mommas And The Pappas fame) did the musical score for 'The Wanderers.' However, the song 'Red River Valley' came out forty years before the movie.

Try using IMDB. They list all the credits to all the major films.

I didn't see the movie. but I do know that Marty Robbins had a popular hit with that song
