Doesn't look good for mid-term elections.
This is as bad as it gets. Foley was at the forefront of child protection issues, and it turns out he's a run-of-the-mill pervert, no better than the ones caught in the Dateline Specials, which he ironically praised several months ago.

If he were a Democrat, I would seperate the two - his perversions are not indicative of any political slant, however -
what is disturbing is who knew what and when? The more this sordid tale unfolds, the more evidence comes to light that his indiscretions were an open secret, and for whatever reason, were ignored.
I voted for Bush, but if there was a definite conspiracy of silence regarding this issue, heads should role from the highest reaches of Pres. Bush's party.

lisaclara - I love your passion, and the last thing I want to see is Democrats seize control of Congress (God help us all), but, people have lost sight of the issue here.

I agree that Clinton was a joke, but he's six years ago now, so I'm not particularly concerned with what he and Monica did.
With the Foley scandal, we are talking about children.

If anyone in the world has a functioning brain they wil stop and think - okay -the President of the United States at one time - President Clinton - okay took advantage of a much younger woman in the WHITE HOUSE of all places by having oral sex. Okay - how is that in comparison to molestation - let's compare - come on!

Then, they tried to impeach him for it - I mean how bad is that? Doesn't anyone remember that political standing and civic duties - don't turn a pervert into a socially responsible person regardless of their political party? And what's more - don't people realize that with the Republicans in control - the democrats will use the liberal media to their advantage and make this look as bad as they possibly can with their TV ads and everything and try to say that Republicans are all wrong for America because of this scandal? It's all political baloney - of course they are going to come up with all kinds of horrible lurid things to say - they want to make things look as bad as possible so that they can get control again. It's all about political power and money - it has nothing to do with the truth - it's never been about the truth - well maybe for a few politicians but I don't know of many.

The last Democrat President was a pervert - and so the Democrats are being total hypocrites to try to say that it's those horrid Republicans who support liars, perverts and cheaters.

According to many polls from numerous sources, on average, about 85% of Democrats will vote Democrat in November. And approximately one-third on Republicans will also vote Democrat. And the Foley Scandal is just making it worse for the Republicans.

I really don't think it will matter. Everyone knows power breeds corruption and that there are bad people on both sides. What has been done in the past about this crap? Not much or it would not still be happening.

Not badly enough.
Look what Bush has gotten away with. They showed the wiretapping to be illeigal and impeachable and now its not even an issue anymore. They control what people hear, read and think!

The elections will still favor the Republicans. Because the voting machines are rigged.

Most voters vote party lines...so I don't think it will matter much....there are bigger issues to deal with. I'm sure there are offenders on both sides.....the nails are biting now.
