Both. Global warming will make it warmer. The ice caps will melt This will prevent the distribution heat in the ocean which will bring on another ice age. This takes a long time so don't don't go out and buy winter coats to survive the ice age.

As you mentioned, the earth will get hotter and hotter and make the ice caps melt and flooding. Do you know how long does melted ice maintain cold weather. I don't think it will so long

Uh.... it will get colder toward the polar extremes, with some tolerable heat in the tropics. Then the heat will gradually decrease, and just be a tad chilly in the middle.

Just the way I like it.

No, I'm just kidding. Why don't you go on Scientific American and ask them? What do you think? I think it'll be fookin' hot.

obviously global "warming" refers to the earth getting hotter....

it is hypothesised that once the earth warms to a certain point the gulf stream will shut down and this would cause europe to get much much colder (much of europe is at the same latitude as canada)...

both... temps will rise melting the ice caps... the resulting cooling will eventually result in an Ice Age... then it cycles back again
