My son had the same problem. I took him to a foot specialist(dr.scholls) and they told me that he was too young at the time to tell if it was a problem. They said to give it time. I also read about what types of shoes for new walkers to wear. Keep him in shoes that are not stiff. If you can bend the shoe in half in your hand it's good. Barefoot is the best though. My son is 18 months now and no one can tell he had that problem when he was younger. good luck hope all turns out well

My daughter did the same thing. I was a little concerned at first but then noticed that the foot that was turned a bit was actually the foot she was using all the time to lift herself to standing position. She is running all over now (1yr old also) and the foot corrected itself as she gained her balance. My son (15yr) did the same thing at that time I didn't notice him using it to lift. The doctor had me use mineral oil and massage the foot couple time a day in the opposite direction (gently) he turned out fine as well. If you notice that his turned foot is complicating or hindering his walking then consult his doctor to be safe. Good luck. Have fun with his new found ability LOL you're about to do a lot of cleaning up after him.

My 10-month old is just starting to walk and her feet seem to land every which way.
I wouldn't worry about it unless like someone said it's something new and it sticks around for awhile.
You can certainly mention it to your Dr. at the next well-baby visit if you're concerned, (that's part of the purpose of those visits right?) but it's likely nothing.
Congrats on the 1st birthday!!! Let the toddling begin!

He probably is just using that foot to push himself up. If you can just straighted (flatten) his foot back out once he stands up. My daughter had the same problem when she was little. She is 5yrs old now and just fine. Just try to correct it when you see it and he will get the hand of it eventually. Tell the doctor if you are still concerned.

I would say go and have his foot checked , he may need a brace for a while to straighten the foot out.. best to catch it now, than in later years and have kids make fun of him with a bum foot..

He could be a lil pigeon toed. My lil girl who just turned 2 is that way. Her left foot is fine but the right is turned in a lil. I asked our doc. about it and he said there are special boots she could wear but that high tops shoes would work just as well. Hope that helps=)

My sister did this when she was little and the pediatrician did not pay that much attention so she took her to an orthopedist. It turned out it could be fixed by wearing orthopedic boots for a year. Good luck.

I wouldn't worry too much yet, unless it's a new development. (As in, he started walking straight and developed the twist.) It can take them a while to get the kinks out (as it were).
You can always bring it up at his one-year well-baby visit, if you're concerned.
