STIGMATISM refers to normal vision. ASTIGMATISM refers to a defect in an optical system in which light rays from a single point fail to converge in a single focal point.

Perhaps you're referring to astigmatism? If so, that can and is correctable in any of the three following ways:
a) wearing conventional eye glasses
b) wearing contact lenses
c) having laser surgery performed

the way to help this disorder is wearing specal eye glasses that a eye doctor fits for you and in time it will strengthen the nerve as well the eyes you will have to wear them for the rest of your life but that is better than going blind. in my opion ?
