Gas prices generally increase around holidays associated with travel (like Thanksgiving), but it will certainly seem political if they increase just a few days after the election.

I'm sure the gas prices will increase after the Elections. The Oil Companies will say it was because of a threat in the Middle East or something. However, I don't think we can necissarily point to Republican corruption if it does. The Oil Companies are smart enough to know that if Democrats take control of Congress their are going to have to be much more careful about price gouging, since Republicans don't seem to care. Hense, I think the Oil Companies just realized that to help the Republicans retain control they could lower gas prices temporarily to improve the public mood.

Actually, the prices will rise before Thanksgiving, through Christmas, then go back down after the New Year. A lot of people travel during these holidays and the oil business will cash in during this time.

Goodness, yes. Something fishy was going on with the gas prices here in CA. The bigger gas station companies had lowered their prices 20 cents more than the small gas stations. It lasted for about a week, and I wonder how the heck that could have happened.

The only reason they have lowered the gas prices a tad, it because of the Elections. They have a good thing going, so It is sure to rise again.

Dumb question, but I will answer it.

The price of gas goes up and down with the price of a barrel of oil. The price of a barrel is down about $12 from 6-8 months ago.
Little else has anything to do with it.

Of course they will rise.

Because how else will they make up for all this potential profit they are giving up in order to keep a Republican in command for at least another 4 years?

As if it is not bad enough that they will have easily hackable electronic voting machines that only they have access to?

Do you really think democrats will win again?

It seems that gas prices are more and more related to holidays and personal opinions these days. It just so happens that because of Thanksgiving in Canada...in my City....its gone up today...how convenient!!!

The conspiracy theorists will have something to do. The price of gas goes up and down for a variety of reasons.
