Cancerians are very family oriented so yes, a break-up is very hard on them. To be truthful, I think any sensitive person of any star sign suffers in a break-up, especially if they aren't the one who wants it. If you didn't suffer, you would probably be a very unfeeling person and not capable of feeling true love or joy.

cancerians are supposed to be the emotional ones. read the sta profile on yahoo. they will look like they are taking it pretty good, but deep down it hurts them. they think they may not be able to find someone like the one they have lost. that would involve leaving the comfort zone. then the next time the see you they will appear moody and sour. just a theory. oh an im a cancer.
