not much unless you choose the field of journalism or english as your profession. once you decide what you want to do, you are most likely going to start at a beginning or start position and learn your way through, so they may look at transcripts, but more of an average grade instead of class by class.

as perceived by students? it's ok b/c you can usually retake a class if you fail it. lots of kids fail at least 1 class in college, so it's no big deal.
