Last time i checked.. Randy Johnson got paid nearly the same salary. So why is A-rod getting all the criticism when Randy Johnson is not nearly what he used to be? Johnson had 172 SO this year, hes only had less than that 2 times since '98. No. 6 in runs allowed with 125, which is now his career high. He is totally falling off fast. Might i add he got totally owned by the Tigers tonight. On the other hand, A-rod was walked 90 times this year, thats his 3rd highest total since he's been in the majors. Has only had less than 111 RBIs in ONE season since '96 when he had 106.Led 3rd basemen in RBIs this year. Had 35 or more homeruns in 9 of the last 10 years.

You tell me.

Yes, he should be getting more criticism, but I think he gets a pass because of his age.

A-Rod is treated totally unfairly, especially game two. The pitches Verlander struck him out on in the first were nastly, and Zumaya is great.

A-Rod will always get more criticism, because he plays ever day, is high -profile, and he has never produced in the post season as long as he's been a Yankee (other than games 1-3 against Boston in '03).

So it was Johnson's 3rd worse season since turning 40??
What do you really expect out of him??????

I agree A-Rod had a damn good year this year too.

I think the Yankee fans are a bunch of B***hes. Stop crying.
A-Rod is the best 3rd basemen in the league.
Johnson is 44 or something and the Yankees knew that he was on the down slope when they got him. I KNEW IT. ARIZONA KNEW IT.
Either the Yankees are morons and didnt pay attention who they gave their money to or they have to stop crying when they get what the whole world expected.

Randy Johnson is in his forty's, The Yankees knew they were taking a risk worth taking. Arod is in the prime of what many believe will be a HOF career but his performance in the post season has been disappointing at best. At tonight's game it was just not Arod that did not hit.

A-Rod just needs to play like normal A-rod istead of trying to be a superstar. Randy Johnson is getting old so people don't criticize him.Randy and Alex both need to get their heads straight or the team will be eliminated.

You know Randy Johnson is in the twilight of his career. He's kind of like the guy who isn't necessarily worth what he's being paid, but the Yankees would be dumb to let him go.

AROD is in the peak of his career and he has the skills to pay the bills, but when it comes down to clutch he can't deliver. Bases loaded bottom of the ninth, down by 2 you put the bat in Arods hands and he most likely won't produce. Statistically he should produce, but he can't produce in the clutch which is why he gets so much flack.

Are you really asking this question? I think that the biggest problem is that we are talking about the Evil Empire, lets talk about a different team, no one on the Yankees is worth it. How about the Red Sox, or the Mets. Every team has its problems, the problem is that no one cares about the Yankees problems, just a bunch of over paid, big headed superstars that should be playing on different teams. Since they cant win the big one no matter who they get.

No, none of the Yankees should be criticized. The majority of baseball fans want to see the Yankees lose. Since the whole team is doing exactly what they need to do in the last two games to fulfill those wishes, I think they should all be getting a lot of praise. Please help us, Yankee bums, by losing one more games to my new heroes, the Detroit Tigers!
