I rebooted windows and there is no sound what do I do?

reinstall sound card drivers or download from manufacturer website drivers if you dont have a cd.

Go to "all programs" then "accessories" then "volume" and make sure all the sound indicators are "on" in the middle or upper portion of their ranges. Some "hard boot" interruptions will shut off the volume on this screen, which is somewhat of a master volume control.

Do you mean that you re-installed Windows? In that case you will need to re-install your audio driver. There should have been a second CD with your drivers on it that you would have received when you bought your computer.

Turn your computer Off, Unplug it and all the wires that connect it to the other devices you have. Do the same with your other devices. Repackage them in the box they came in and return to store.

windows xp sound / microphone setup

right click my computer icon click on propeties
click on hardware tab
click on device manager
click on the

+

next to sound /video /game/controllers

check to see if there is any yellow makes over the sound driver
if no if yes you need to reinstall the sound drivers

close off device manager

windows xp settings, sound
make sure your speaker conncetion is in the speaker port
on your sound card ..if you have a SPEAKER box with power set it to on or if your spearks have a power & volume on set too on and turn up the volume on them

click on start / control panel

a sound and audio devices properties box will pop up

if you only have 2 speakers and not a set of 12 speakers
on the volume control box click on options properties

in show the following volume controls box list
you can untick

1:front
2:subwoofwooer
3:center
4:rear
then click on ok

sound effect manager ,icon
click on speaker configuration ,tab
place a dot in
2 channel mode for stereo speaker output
click on ok close off control panel
restart the computer
restart the computer for windows xp too save the settings
then try your sound
