Is it asking for the driver for the memory stick or for the USB card?
Even if the PCI-USB add-on is working properly (which it sounds like it is if Windows recognizes that a card was plugged in) you will still need to install device drivers for the memory stick. Drivers for items like USB drives are not native to Win98 and have to be downloaded from the manufacturer.

Hope this helps.

I too had a Windows 98 OS and there are lot of problems with these USB 2.0 devices. Most drivers dont work on Win98.

So you have to search the driver websites or forums to seek out the correct driver.

I would suggest you upgrade to WinXP, life is better in XP drivers!!

actual. If u have bootable Win CD there is not worry in any respect. in simple terms run the CD and stick to the classes. based what OS u have now, it is going to ask in spite of if u prefer to enhance, restoration or make new installation- if u already produce different Win put in and u chosen new installation it's going to make it as 2d OS (u could have selection besides all of us of them on the initiating). If u dont prefer to have 2 OS then the two u improve the prevailing one (if its older version) or restoration it. different way is to format HD, yet make useful u have required motive force on your exterior HD so as that it runs after u format your inner HDD (then l ought to partition your HD) If u have a Win sell off which isn't bootable then make useful u produce different bootable CD or FD, even of alternative OS (u could make it from contemporary OS) and required motive force for extrnl HDD. Then if it doesnt initiate setup from autorun or setup.exe bypass to I386 and variety winnt.exe - the setup will initiate.
