The keys on some calculators, actually most, are arranged in a form for something called touch five or something like that. Someone thought that was the easiest way to arrange them and it stuck. Others have tried different schemes for business and other applications. The basic one on the right side of most keyboards has been most widely accepted. Maybe it is the best. Maybe it is the most familiar.
In short, try a different calculator. Besides, calculators are not traditionally built for speed. They are built for convenience. Keyboards are built for speed.
