Is it true that you can do better on a quiz or a test by studying the information over a longer period of time rather than studying primarily the night before?
Does studying over a long period of time also work for the SATs, ACTs, and the AP exams?

If you study over a long period of time you will remember more than trying to cram at the last minute.

yes it is true, because studying over a long period of time you actually learn the material because it gets repeated over and over. But when you cram the night before you are only memorizing the info until the test. then you forget it fairly quickly.

Its true because the human mind learns over repeated actions. How to walk. How to dress or how to flirt. It does not happen over night. Just watch a baby doing the same stuff over and over again. He will learn eventually. For SAT don't even bother studying, because it measures what you have learned over the years. So, you should worry if you were a slacker in class.

My Bio Professor told me that if you study something at least 5 times over a period of time, you have a better chance at remembering it. Hope that helps

Well, I think it is difficult to generalize about everyone's learning capacities. But in general, the longer you have to puzzle over, think about ideas, etc, the better you will understand the concepts during test time.

In my experience, it has. This is especially true with things such as memorizing vocabulary. Cramming them all in one night makes it too hard for your brain to absorb that much information.
