no probably not. The charger probably hooks up to a different outlet than what's in the UK. Although maybe u could find a phone with a plan here in the US that can call areas in the UK?

Wow ! Why so difficult ? The same brands of mobile phones found in England also exist in the US. Just ask the Company ie Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola etc if the phone can be used in the US.

I would be shocked if you cannot get an answer.

Why not buy her a phone on ebay from an American seller. That way you could get it sent to her and it would be ok for her to use. But if its tri band she could use a Uk one she would just need to get a converter for the charger :)

I don't see why not. I took mine to India and used it there but had to register it with Orange because its a Government rule so that they can trace terrorist activities. Wouldn't it be just a matter of changing the sim card??

she will be able to use the phone 100% but if you send her a sim card, she will have to pay loads of bills.

YES, YES and YES! It has to support global sim card system and be a tri-band, you can check your local dealer. I live in U.S, bought my phone from Finland and it works just fine!

It must be TRIBAND, also the charger won't work as the voltage is 110 and not 240

i dont think so..usa have different companys..not the same as uk. why not send the money instead..and let them buy one here..
